1 Peter 1:3-8

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance- an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by His power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.

Brian has been and is continuing to go through trials at work. These verses are such an encouragement! Earlier in the week he was across the country on a business trip. It seemed a lot harder this time having him away, even though is was a short trip. On Monday I called my SIL and we got the Thanksgiving menu worked out and just talking to her was such an encouragement. That night a great friend called and again just talking was just what I needed at that time. Tuesday evening I decided to take the boys to the library to save time the next morning. As we were getting ready to leave, Nathan ran up to me telling me the Vallejo's had just walked in! I got to sit and hold the sweetest 1 month old little girl and visit face to face with my dearest friend!

I am so amazed when God brings the perfect scripture at the perfect time. Also the perfect friend or phone call at just the time I need it most! He has been doing that a lot lately and I couldn't be more grateful!
