Happenings

What has been happening with us lately?

We are in the process of getting a new ivy green metal roof. The roofers came on Wednesday and put in a full day installing trim. Yesterday was a beautiful day but they just put in a few rivets. They didn't want to start the actual work because we have several vents that they have to remove and replace with pipe or something. The weather report showed rain/snow the next three days and he didn't want to risk having holes in the roof and possible leaks. So hopefully next week they can get busy.

We are gearing up for season 2 of our canoe/kayak rental business. This weekend is the KS Sport, Boat, and Travel Show at the KS Coliseum. It is actually the last event there, since Wichita built the new arena down town. Anyway, Bri is friends with the owners of Action Marine and that is also where he bought his Hobie Kayaks. Ed called a couple weeks ago and asked if Bri wanted to help in their booth and pass out business cards for our business. We went as a family last night. Bri stayed in the booth and the boys and I walked around. We toured every single rv, took in the shark show, the bass fishing show and the last part of the snake show. They did the quail shooting game and took a water safety quiz in order to get the free little flash lights. Bri was able to talk to several people. He is going back again tonight after work and will be there all day Saturday and Sunday.

We finally got our phone issues resolved. We now use two cell phones and no longer have a land line.

We are starting the count down for the end of school. Should wrap up in another couple months.

I am getting gardening fever. Luke made me a list of all the seeds we saved from last year. I am starting to think about where I want to plant everything, plus order my herb seed and give those a go.

That's about all the happenings going on around here.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Cr 13:2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1Cr 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
1Cr 13:4 Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Cr 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Cr 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Cr 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
1Cr 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Cr 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Cr 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1Cr 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1Cr 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1Cr 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

Snow

Outside my front door this morning

You can't see the snow falling in the pictures, but it is coming straight down, no wind. Makes me think God is sifting powdered sugar from heaven down onto our land.

Have a great day!
